A senior Supreme Court lawyer’s recent complaint about the deteriorating state of the Indian judiciary has stirred up lawyers across the country. According to Mr. Dushyant Dave, lawyers are facing a severe financial crisis as their main source of income has been disrupted. In an effort to improve the efficiency of the judiciary, local judges have taken matters into their own hands and eliminated intermediaries to facilitate immediate justice.
Unreliable sources suggest that judges are now accepting bribes directly from both parties to expedite case settlements. This attempt at streamlining the Indian judicial system has not been welcomed by lawyers who have been operating successful cartels using bribe money.
As the spokesperson for all lawyers in the country, Mr. Dave has expressed grave concerns about the current state of the judiciary, stating that the situation is worse than during Indira Gandhi’s time when national and international bribes were under her control. He has also called on the government to develop a new online portal to facilitate all bribed transactions via UPI.
